Medical Spotlight: Asthma
This medical spotlight is on Asthma. Asthma is one of the more common conditions that affect children and can be well-managed by their primary care provider. At Capote Pediatrics, we strive to provide evidence-based asthma care and education for our patients and their families.
This website is a fantastic resource run by the American Academy of Pediatrics and designed specifically for you, the parent. It has information on normal development, feeding schedules, common concerns, and even talking to your teen!
Expecting?
We offer complimentary prenatal Meet & Greet visits for all prospective patients. This visit gives you the opportunity to meet Dr. Capote and ask questions about our practice and your baby. Give us call at 941-355-9374 so we can schedule a time that works for you!
Cold and Flu Season
We are now in cold and flu season! There are a number of vaccines and treatments your child can receive to prevent against certain illness that are more prevalent during this time. We have 2024 flu vaccines available now. We also have the 2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine available to those aged 6 months through 5 years, as they can’t receive them at local pharmacies. You can contact our office to reserve your vaccine. All other ages may contact their local pharmacy for vaccination. In addition, we are offering Beyfortus - a preventative antibody treatment against RSV - to those under 8 months of age. Please see below for more information.
Congratulations to all our high school seniors! Be sure to come in and receive your pre-college vaccines before you start this exciting new stage of life.
At Capote Pediatrics, we strive to protect our patients from all preventable diseases. Meningitis protection is strongly recommended before going to college. Spread through coughing, sneezing, and kissing, college-age young adults are at the highest risk for infection. It is also important to be sure you are up to date on other vaccines, including Hepatitis A (spread through contaminated food) and Human Papillomavirus protection (causes cervical, oropharyngeal, and rectal cancers).
